We obsess over details here at Clicks. The exact hue of colors, the performance of materials, the texture of finishes.

As we've followed the feedback from the community, one theme that's been hard to miss has been protection. While we've designed Communicator to be a phone you can use naked, it's undeniable that you want great accessories that add another layer of protection.

Rather than re-inventing the wheel on a full-body case and screen protector, we went looking for a partner who obsesses about product design as much as we do.

Enter: dbrand.

Many of you will already know them, not just for their products, but because co-founder Michael Fisher, a.k.a. MrMobile, has been working with them as a sponsor for the better part of a decade now. Turns out, that's a decent way to get an introduction.

Here's what dbrand has cooked up…

MNML Case for Communicator

MNML is dbrand's minimalist case for Communicator. It's a new line they just launched across flagship Apple, Samsung, and Google hardware. Clicks is the fourth OEM to get one, and the first that isn't made by a company worth a trillion dollars. Neat!

When the dbrand team first shared their vision for the MNML line, we knew it fit perfectly with the Communicator design ethos: a thin, durable, clean looking case. Plus, they were able to create three custom colorways to match and complement the Communicator range.

Here's how dbrand describes MNML. The copy is about as minimalist as the case:

  • nice texture
  • pretty tough
  • strong magnets
  • fits perfect
  • very thin

Of course, we worked closely with dbrand's engineering team to make sure Communicator still feels like Communicator with the case on. The Prompt Key, Signal Light, and Kill Switch stay clear and usable. The lip around the front is protective where it needs to be and gets out of the way around the keyboard. Plus, magnets embedded in the rear of MNML keep charging and accessories aligned exactly where you put them.

MNML for Communicator is USD $39 and comes in three colors. Head to the configuration tool on clicksphone.com to see every MNML + Communicator combination and add one at checkout.

Prism Screen Protector for Communicator

Prism is the screen protector dbrand is best known for, and the reason is the application system.

Most screen protectors ask you to do the hard part yourself, and often, despite your best efforts, you're just hoping for the best. Prism removes that doubt entirely. The magic comes from a self-aligning installer tray they've custom built for Communicator. The benefit is that the glass is held exactly in the right position allowing it to lay down perfectly every time. There's even a statically-charged peel layer that pulls out dust as you remove it.

Even though you could do it blindfolded (fun fact: MKBHD really did), dbrand includes two in every box. Consider the second one a backup.

Plus, because both products come from the same team, they work perfectly together. MNML's front lip around Communicator's display was built specifically to work with the device on its own or with Prism installed. While it's only a sub-millimeter difference, it's exactly the sort of thing that only gets caught when the entire ecosystem is developed together.

Prism for Communicator is USD $34.95 and can be added to your order at checkout. Big thanks to the team at dbrand for rallying around the vision for Communicator and adding Clicks to your portfolio of brand.

And thanks to everyone in the community who has been telling us what they want to see on Communicator. You asked for a case and a screen protector and we heard you. Keep it coming, we're listening!
